Trained in game design and developing my skills within level design, this has helped me understand narrative and how to work it on both screenplay and in a scene (be that film or video games. As I worked on my skills in both level design and screenplay writing, I came to understand narrative more, and the thought process of how it works in any media. When writing a screenplay and then moving onto a level design, I can incorporate the narrative from text to environments.

Writing has always been something I love to do since I was young. Creating characters and bringing them to life in some made-up world is fun and exciting. My love for science fiction, fantasy, action, adventure, horror, comedy, and many more genres of films, TV shows, and books always hyped up my imagination. It wasn't till my time at college when I was introduced to screenplay writing that I then found my passion.

Here are some screenplays I worked on for either myself or as a screenplay editor for someone else.

SKYSTAR

Skystar is the first feature-length screenplay that I have attempted. This long feature is a science-fiction adventure that takes place in the future and the past. The story battles the issues of climate change and how it will take a major catastrophe before all nations of Earth finally band together and help. It also pushes the clash between science and religion, how their differences still disrupt solutions and how they should work together for the better.

Story description:

In 2039, NASA and other Space Agencies band together after a catastrophic world-changing event that kills a billion people - four years before, they prepare to send six astronauts to a nearby system after making brief contact with an alien race, looking for help in fixing Earth as it slowly dies. When tragedy strikes before the scheduled launch, two cadets are sent back in time; learning a horrifying truth, leading to a  chance to save Earth but in doing so, it will cost them everything.

COUNTDOWN

Countdown is a short drama based on two friends facing the end of the world together, talking about their friendship, issues they went through in childhood, and how world problems with war and disease now seem small and silly.

This was a third-year final project for a friend studying film at University. I was asked to help edit his written story into a screenplay. The original story was written by Billy-Joe Steeples.

SUNNY OAK

Sunny Oak is a 45-page short film based on a modern-day vampire horror that digs deep into people's rash reactions towards situations they do not understand. The main star is a vulnerable young woman who lives with her abusive controlling brother in a small English village, where one night her world changes when she helps a young injured man home, who turns out to be a vampire. However, he is kind and gentle and befriends her until her brother becomes aware and sets out the forks and torches to bring him down, resulting in tragedy.
